RV Pleated Shades
The Day/night window shades for RV's are really nice but after a few years the
strings that run through them begin to wear out and break.
Kind of a pain.
I found a video on Youtube showing how to restring them.
I thought I might give it a try and then got busy and decided to find a place to fix them.
They have a sticker on them from Irvine Shade and Door.
I thought great, they're here is CA.
Not sure how they got that name but turns out they're in
Elkhart Indiana... http://www.irvineshadeanddoor.com/
I gave them a call and they're really friendly. They restring them for $20.
Unfortunately you get charged for shipping both ways.
I sent mine UPS from a UPS Store and the shipping is about $18. If you need them to box, pack and ship them, it's about $30 from here in CA.
To fix and ship back it was $39 so it cost close to $70 round trip to get them fixed.
My co-worker said, "why dont you just buy new ones?". So I looked at that and
on Camping World's website they had them listed for $49.
By the time you put in the actual dimensions and colors.... the total came to about $165 and you're not even sure they'll fit.
Irvine Shade and Door said they will send you string for them.
I think when my other set goes, I'll try to restring them myself.
