Sun Screens

I realize that it's late in the season for this, summer over but there's still a lot of sun.
This site is a great resource.
This is a link to the "best" listed alphabetically.
Low score is good. Click on individual products for information and possible health concerns.

I was using a lot of the Neutrogena products but they seem to have dropped to worse scores, probably because of Oxybenzone content.

For kids, checkout #6 California Baby, No Fragrance SPF 30 (rankings will change over time) This one goes on kinda white and works better if you're pretty fair...

The downside to some of the blocks is that they might be good for occasional beach use but hard to find one for daily use. They start to irritate sensitive areas like the neck after a week or so.
For moisturizing daily wear checkout:  Keys Soap Solar RX Therapeutic Sunblock, SPF 30

You can get a lot of these products at Amazon   http://www.amazon.com/
Good to read the customer reviews at Amazon as well.

Also check this link to "Hall of Shame" scroll down and read about the Skin Cancer Foundation, give them a donation, get an approval!.
Stay away from the Banana Boat product...

RV Covers! RV Covers! RV Covers!

Whatever you do, don't buy Adco RV covers.
I just threw away my second one. I got about 6 months out of the first cover and maybe
7 months out of the second. They don't stand up at all to UV.

I bought the first Adco cover for my "Class C" RV at Camping World for about $250.
I put it on the RV in June and it was trash by December. BTW I live in Southern California, not Michigan!
The cover started getting random holes in the top and then I came home one day and found it had split from bumper to bumper down the middle and it was on the ground at both sides of my RV.

I e-mailed Adco (which is pretty close to my house) and they are actually really nice. They offered me a new cover right away. When I went to get it, they said they had one with a better plastic top but I would have to pay the $50 difference. I went for this one.

I put it on my RV in December and it was ruined by July.
I tried to pad all the sharp edges of my RV with the foam swimming pool floats like they recommended but it didn't help. The top of the new one was fine but both of the sides fell off. After a few months in the sun, you can tear them by hand like tissue paper.

Maybe they do better in the shade? If my RV were in the shade, I wouldn't need a cover.
Anyway, I am now trying something a little different/cheaper, I bought a 30'X30'
tarp from wholesaletarp.net It has eyelets all around the edges and you can tie it down. So far, the only downside is, it's hard to get inside the RV when you need to.
The tarps are a little over $100 bucks and with shipping I think it was like $130 or so.
We'll see how it does...

The lack of quality in RV's and RV products is pretty sad. In general, things made in the U.S. these days are a big disappointment. Hate to say it, but maybe if Toyota or Honda were in the RV business, there would be some better quality products?.

***UPDATE***
I got a 30'x30' tarp at the link below and it has lasted the longest so far.
In heavy winds I either take it off or tie over the top of the RV front, middle and back.
I've found that if you lay the tarp flat on the ground and fold from each side toward the center, and keep doing this until you have it at about 4' wide 30' long, you can then roll both the short ends to meet in the center. You can then pull it up onto your RV with a rope and place on the top center of your RV.  It's pretty easy
to unroll and unfold from this point.
