I Installed a new15" flat screen TV in the RV. At some point, I guess I must have
done something to kill the battery power. While I was working on the T.V. install, I had the RV plugged into the power in my garage.
I never noticed that the battery power stopped working.
We took a trip out to Ventura beach last weekend and I didn't even notice that the battery power was off when I unplugged from the garage.
When we got to the site, we tried to get the slide-out open before hooking up to the park power and noticed that the power was off.
Fortunately the park had hook-ups and we just plugged in.
When we got back home, I started to check out the problem and
started in the battery box under the entry step.
I was trying to trace the power to the panel under the dining room table.
I thought for sure that the power was leaving the battery box.
It was late and I overlooked the fact that the +12V was leaving the battery but not out of the small compartment next to it. I took a day or two off to try to get some wiring diagrams from Fleetwood. Much to my surprise they responded with some drawings and disclaimers about doing your own repairs. The actual drawings are pretty bad overall and leave out a lot of detail but better then nothing I guess. I'm thinking about doing some schematics with a little more detail at some point.
When I got back to it with my volt meter I noticed this time that the +12V was leaving the main relay and then not getting through a small rectangular device down in the bottom of the compartment. The part is about 3/4" by 1-1/2" and has two screw terminals on it. Turns out that it is a small resettable reset switch/circuit breaker. There was a tiny button on the left side of it that had popped out. I pressed it in, reconnected the battery and everything was working again!.
Hopefully this info. will help someone else.
Don't for get to disconnect the battery before working on this stuff!!
